For the Hidden Figures Project


Browse the articles and pick one of the women (or groups) to research.  In order to get all the information you need for your poster, you may have to find additional sources.

If you like, you may chose someone not on this list as long as that person made a contribution to technology and is not a white male.  I will award extra credit if your chosen person is not on this list.

This is a 100 point assignment.  Extra credit if you include an interesting quote in your poster.

1)    Go to Mrs. Satter’s blog and find the post about this assignment
2)    Pick one of the women (or group of women) to research
3)    Read the article
4)    Prepare a poster with the following information:
·       Full name(s)
·       Life dates (not necessary for a group of people)
·       Birthplace (not necessary for a group of people)
·       3-5 major accomplishments
·       Answer the question: “Why is she a hero?”
·       Use a picture of the person
·       Include other graphics or photos that illustrate the person’s (or group’s) career and accomplishments
·       You may need to do additional research to find all the information
Use the rubric on the next page to assess your project – shoot for an A!
The project is worth 100 points – extra credit if you include an interesting quote from the person.
You can create your poster on paper (see Mrs. Satter) or electronically.
