Students can access primary resource documents by visiting their local libraries, ERIC and EBSCO are common resources for gathering primary resource documents. Students can also access the resource links below. The first link will teach students how to access primary resource documents on the web. The other links are viable resources for primary resource documents.

Presentations:

Presentations can be in any format you wish….webpage, PowerPoint, Movie, Prezi, TedTalk….This is your opportunity to be creative! Students must impress upon their audience that they actively engaged with the primary resource document and that they practiced 21^st century skills as a learner and researcher by addressing in their presentation some of the questions below.

Probing questions that promote…

A. Engagement:

· What feelings and thoughts does the primary source trigger in you?

· What questions does it raise?

· What do you see that you didn’t expect?

B. Inquiry:

· What was happening during this time period?

· What was the creator’s purpose in making this primary source?

· What does the creator do to get his or her point across?

· What was this primary source’s audience?

· What biases or stereotypes do you see?

· Does the article test your assumptions about the past?

· Did you find other primary or secondary sources that offer support or contradiction?

C. Critical thinking:

· Use specific evidence to support any conclusions.

· Identify questions for further investigation/ research

· Develop strategies for how you might answer your questions and the methods you would use to gather more research and evidence

· September 5^th, 2019 - PTSO Sponsored Ice Cream Social to Celebrate Summer Reading, Families Invited

On September 4^th, you will present in each period (same presentation/different class) and will receive an Additional 10 POINTS in EACH of those classes!
